We hope you’ve enjoyed a safe and fun summer break. We’re looking forward to welcoming our students back to school soon. Please read this message for some important updates.
NEW PRINCIPAL
Ms. Worthington is excited to be at Riverton Elementary! This will be her 20th year working in Jordan School District, where she's been a substitute, a teacher, an instructional coach, an intern coordinator with UVU, an assistant principal, and a principal. Riverton is her 11th school, and she can't wait to get to know all of our raccoons. She's also working on a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at BYU and hopes to defend her dissertation next summer. If you see her at school or in the community, please say hello and introduce yourself and your family. You can see pictures of all of our staff members on our school website.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
We’re grateful for the many people who have been renovating our school building this summer. We’re excited to announce that due to their hard work, we will start the school year on time, in person, and in our own building. Construction will continue for several weeks, so stay tuned for more updates. Just today, our staff received clearance to start moving in! We’re busy cleaning, unpacking, and preparing for the first day of school.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
We want everyone to come see our school, but we won’t be ready for you until Back to School Night on Monday, August 19th at 5:30. Please join us for the festivities and visit with your teacher! See more information about what to expect on the attached flyer.
OFFICE HOURS
Our office will open for new student registration only starting Wednesday, August 14th at 10:00 am. The office will reopen for all families starting at Back to School Night on Monday, August 19th at 5:30.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Wednesday, August 21st is the first day of school for Kindergarten through 6th grade classes. There will be a lot of traffic that morning, so please plan for extended time to get your child to their lineup area. Teachers will show you where to line up for class during Back to School Night.
SCHOOL START/END TIMES
The first bell rings at 8:25 when teachers bring their classes inside. School dismisses at 3:05 on full days and at 12:30 on early out days, which will include Friday, August 23rd. Half day kindergarten dismisses at 11:10 on full days and at 10:15 on early out days, which will include Friday, August 23rd.
STUDENT DROPOFF and PICKUP
Due to the layout of our parking lots, we have very specific procedures for dropping off and picking up students at our school. Please see more information on THIS FLYER.
ANNUAL SKYWARD RE-REGISTRATION
Please take time to check your students' information on Skyward and get them re-registered for this school year. ALL students need to have this important task done in Skyward Family Access. Please see step by step instructions on the attached flyer. Our secretaries can send you an account reset link if you’ve forgotten your username and password. Just give us a call at 801-254-8050, and we’ll be happy to help.
JSD JOB FAIR
Are you interested in working for Jordan School District? If so, you may want to attend the district job fair this Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Copper Hills High School. See more information on the attached flyer. We do have a couple of positions open at our school. Visit Frontline if you would like to apply.
